“Pokemon is a Children’s game” – Those who don’t get it
While your spending $75 dollars on one graded pokemon card and most of the people I see still actually playing pokemon are adults because it came out when they were kids.
Also ya, those ‘Gotcha machines’ are a scam. They run on similar aspects to a gotcha game when they aren’t telling you what card your getting but even worse, they are not telling you the odds of getting a good one.

I work at a Costco and day 1 we changed the limit to 2 per member but not in system so scalpers we buying coming in 2 seconds later and just buying more made me sick to my stomach

To say a vending machine in Vegas is a scam and scumy I think goes without saying. You can’t go to Vegas and not expect to get had in one way or another, they are the birth place of quick money and scams. I wondered if the cards themselves are legitimate to be honest.

Sadly because of resellers and their greed, I’ve stopped going after new cards. It’s so disappointing but I prefer to spend my “poke-money” on merch, in person events (typically to do with PoGo lmao) and of course games/DLC’s.

I can’t be bothered to pay a scalper to pay two to three times retail value because they bought out online stock somewhere or filled a cart at Costco etc.

The grading companies charge less the more cards you send in. So a lot of these collectors will just send a bunch of cards in to get graded. Even if the cards are worthless. In turn it creates a whole surplus of graded cards that are worthless. I used to get people trying to sell them all the time when I owned a card shop. My fave still was a guy trying to sell 20 PSA graded 9 energy cards. Not even holo just regular energy cards. So yeah they got donated probably cause the collectors just want the worthless cards gone

This sounds a bit like build a bear where scalpers just buy shadow the hedgehog and sell it off for a bigger profit. Such as scam and he even went sold out within less than 24 hours.
