I’ve always seen the scarf mask thing as a way of not inhaling the poison gas some poison types release but I think that’s just me

I like to think he wears that scarf because of Janine. Sacrificing a sober style for a flashy one feels like something a father would do for his child.

I feel like the scarf takes away from the intimidation, but is well suited seeing as he’s a gym leader and therefore basically a celebrity of sorts, it makes sense for him to be more flashy tv show esk in that way

I am a huge fan of dynamic billowing scarves, especially red ones, but I gotta agree. It just doesn’t fit his vibe… would be great for a flashback or something when he was younger and more bombastic.
