I guess they figure that what happened in Vegas was to their(Niantic’s) advantage, where an uncontrollable number of people played in person without purchasing tickets!!! They must think all big events are now going to have that amount of people!!!! Niantic must also be realizing that their systems cannot handle the amount of players they have and are getting and so there is only 1 way to lessen the load… they have to downsize their player base, this is of course my own opinion…… Major Content Creators will have the most pull if they are in person for local raids wherever they might visit, but the general population without access to LOCAL well known creators will suffer the most I figure…. I will still play and try to make raids on weekends at a local park but I guess I’ll be at the mercy of others to try and take down 5* raid bosses and pray that the players are at a level that can make a difference in the battle!! Niantic has been giving most of us a “bad taste” in the mouth for quite some time now and I guess this is the last that many want to taste!

I wonder if they make more money selling location data, but I don’t have those numbers. I’ll probably never know either, but it’s interesting to theorize what they are planning with this updated, far as income goes. It will push some people out which is a loss income wise, hoping to trade some of that for location data in hopes more people will be out and about.

No limit for remote raids50 coins for remote raids reward . In person 100-200 coins. Guarnteed xl more stardust

if you only do remote raids, and catch every pokemon you raid, and assume the pokemon will be there for the average 2 weeks and you do your max for the day. You will ALMOST net enough xl candy for a level 50. If you had a mega evolved of the same type, might have better luck as well. Given this will be at a 100% price increase 🙂

Convinced my 2 roommates and girlfriend to start playing but even with 4 some raid bosses are very challenging, this hurts

Remember players YOU make them MILLIONS with YOUR location DATA. You walking around makes them money with GPS DATA. You want to hurt their pockets, turn off adventure sync, don’t play the game and walk around ect. This is why they don’t care about losing money on in game items cause the data is worth more

During COVID, my mom and I made so many online friends through remote raiding when we were all on lock down. Those have become real friendships. Limiting access to remote raids restricts our online communities.

My mom has cancer and mostly bed ridden these days. Like a lot of older players, she can’t do PVP/GBL – it too complicated. Not being able to remote raid will strongly negatively impact those with disabilities that have already limited access to the game.
