Hot take: Roy absolutely deserved this for having no balance in his training (all of the new trainers do this and it makes NO sense) and having a f**king FUECOCO against a TOXTRICITY is just *facepalms* so dumb. I know the concept of levels is murky in the anime but after 60 episodes Fuecoco should have fully evolved by now. The anime feels so disconnected from players’ experiences and it makes me SO mad how a Fuecoco can do this kind of bullcrap 60 episodes in. Fuecoco and the rest of the unevolved starter crew should have died by now.
Edit: I did calculations and a Level 100 Max SpA Modest Fuecoco with Flamethrower OHKOs Rymes Toxtricity. Welp. That argument went down the toilet. (satire)

Honestly, Roy needed that verbally lashing. Paul was harsh to Ash which helped Ash grow stronger as a trainer.

i liked the episode and loved the rap battle but yeah Roy needed a reality check. I feel their singing started to help them dig deep and push through hard times and even just to generally bond over but then this episode just turned it into such a cocky thing. So im happy Roy lost, but being called a failure was harsh and a bit much. I am excited to see them get a new song tho and maybe have hogator evolve as well (i watch sub only so i dont bother learning english names)
